A physical place where advertising can appear, such as a grocery store, gym, pharmacy, restaurant or roadside location.
Digital out-of-home (DOOH)
Out-of-home advertising shown on digital screens, where creative can be scheduled, rotated or updated remotely.
Geographic targeting
Limiting advertising to a defined area — a radius, ZIP codes or a market — so it reaches people who can realistically become customers.
Incentive advertising
Advertising that includes a redeemable offer, such as a discount or free consultation, giving the viewer a reason to respond. AdRadius IQ calls its version Incentive Display Ads™.
Local market
The geographic area where a business competes for customers, usually defined by travel distance, service area or franchise territory.
Local media
Advertising channels that reach people in a specific area, including place-based media, local radio, print, direct mail and community sponsorships.
Market analysis
An evaluation of the advertising environments inside a defined geographic market, used to plan a campaign before anything is booked.
Opportunity Score
AdRadius IQ's relative indicator for ranking advertising environments within a radius. It is not a prediction or guarantee of performance.
Out-of-home advertising (OOH)
Any advertising people encounter outside their homes, including billboards, transit, venue displays and screens.
Place-based advertising
Advertising delivered in physical environments where a defined audience regularly visits, allowing businesses to reach people in the places that make up their daily routine.
Potential opportunity
An environment that commonly carries advertising based on mapping and research, but has not yet been confirmed with the venue or media owner.
Primary market area (PMA)
In automotive retail, the geography a dealership is expected to serve for sales and service, often assigned by the manufacturer.
Radius advertising
Advertising planned around a set distance from a business location so placements stay inside the area customers come from.
Response mechanism
The action path attached to an ad — a scannable code, link, phone number or offer — that makes a response observable.
Trade area
The geographic area from which a business draws most of its customers.
Verified inventory
Placements with a direct relationship or documented placement detail. Availability, dates and pricing are still confirmed before booking.
